Tips for Amateur Publishers
Written by Rolf
Does anyone have any golden tips? I would like to be the owner of a moderately successful blog and receive noticeable income from advertisements but I refuse to spam or pay huge amounts of money to get there. I'm poor, but I do have principles.
I have figured out already that I should have as much unique and interesting content as possible to reach my goal. I do also have some content that you can find anywhere else on the interweb, but I don't see it as a bad thing, as long as I give it a personal unique flavour or at least refer to the source and give credit where credit's due.
Since my personal webserver crashed, I'm duplicating, or rather moving some content from there to here, like my travel stories and photographs. If that isn't unique, I don't know what is, so I should be getting more traffic hopefully.
For those interested and also for myself, here's the traffic and income from beRare per month in 2010. It's none of anyone's business but my own, really, but these numbers are so irrelevant that I don't mind to publish them and it might be helpful or interesting to someone.
For some unknown reason AdSense stopped working from December 10th to when I reenabled it January 24th.

This year I'll continue to fill the site with more unique content and it will be interesting to see the effect on the data of views and income.
Update: The 2011 report!
